DORES BAY

For the July walk we went from Mac and Janet's house to Dores. We didn't really get to Dores Bay despite the title. But it sounds a bit like Doris Day and this blog is based around Doris Day films! I'm not really a fan, but I thought it might be a bit of fun.

I did think of giving a prize for the person who can spot the most film titles, but I have decided that whoever it is can have the glory instead.

And so, for the thrill of it all, here we go. After tea for two and with six you get egg roll at Mac and Janet's and we were ready for the off

Walking up the path towards Tesco was a bit like being in the tunnel of love or perhaps the saga of death valley.

But we soon made it to Tesco, where Mac, the man who knew too much told us all about the best time to go and get the bargains.

At the roundabout we saw Nessie, or was it Billy Rose's Jumbo?

Whilst we were walking through the woods, observing the do not disturb signs, we came a cross this roe deer - honest there is one in the middle of the picture.

This looks like something from the pyjama game, but in reality Sharon was saying, "Move over darling".

Some dogs in the water, or was it on moonlight bay, romance on the high seas or were they looking for the glass bottom boat?

The winning team on the bridge looking young at heart.

A nice pond that reminds me of April in Paris.

Jimmy looking for the West Point story.

It's a great feeling tripping through the woods without a care in the world by the light of the silvery moon.

A sign warning of squirrels.

Pam's favourite cows - that is behind a fence - please don't eat the daisies, though.

The view back to Inverness - and no, that isn't one of Doris Day's films.

Send me no flowers said the woodland spotted butterfly, I prefer simpler fare.

Some like it hot and it certainly was getting that way.

Not the Hollywood hills, but Mealfourvanie

A glimpse of luxury through the trees.

Pam singing lullaby on broadway.

There may be a storm warning when Hugh sees this photo!

 Pillow talk.

 Doris Day and Loch Ness.

Getting close to the Dores Inn and we speed up as most of us were gagging for a drink.

But unfortunately the pub was mobbed, so we didn't stop for a drink!

Instead of the pub we went back to Mac and Janet's for a drink and some nice biscuits as well as a seat in front of the telly to watch some of the golf.

Lucky me and everyone else to have been on such a good walk on such a fine (Doris) day.
Thanks to Mac and Janet for the walk and the hospitality. I was going to write that it happened in June, but it was actually July. Great company and I'll see you in my dreams.
