DARN! AWAY TO FIND HORN WE GO.
January 2015, and it is 10 years since the dinosaurs started going for a walk every month - the first one being in January 2006. Things have changed quite a bit since our first walk, not least of which was Pam morphing into a Premiership player listening to the latest banging tunes on her cans.
It was a cold day and after getting to Conicavel, which no-one knew how to pronounce, we were soon on our way. A search of the internet failed to enlighten me as to how Conicavel should be said. Frankly, Dave and Sandra should have found out before asking us to go there for a walk!
Off we went into the woods, heading towards the Findhorn River....and lunch.
As if this was one of Hugh's walks we soon reached a crossroads and stood about wondering which way to go!
Luckily, a pheasant had been here before and showed us which way to go.
It was a berry good way to go too.
X marked the spot, but there were no pirates or treasure to be seen
Eventually we came to a car park and a useful sign pointing out some kind of danger, but we pressed on regardless.
Alliteration now - a band of brave battlers on a bridge through the branches.
The raging torrent below.
Logie House on the other side of the Findhorn.
The way was dark and full of terrors.
But that didn't stop us.
Lots of looking aimlessly about......
.....when we should have been looking at this.
Jacque explains to Jimmy how she was telling Hugh that she had forgotten her phone even though she had been sure she had put it in one of the pockets of her new rucksack that she got for Christmas, in fact it was this pocket here...oh! it is in that pocket after all, how could that be, I was sure I had looked and it wasn't there, but it is now, how stupid am I? Jimmy nodded.
And here is Jacque's new rucksack. It has lots of pockets to lose things in.
A gnarly old tree.
Sharon and Jacque carried their cuddly toys with them, just in case they got lost in the dark, wild woods.
Soon it was time for lunch and Dave and Sandra had arranged for a very nice little fisherman's bothy to be built right at the appropriate spot for us.
Sharon and Sandra (OMG are they sisters) look a bit disapproving of the nutritional value of some of the lunches.
The lunch photo.
This canoeist seems to have lost the water and found a nest of twigs instead.
Frosted, folded Findhorn features. I quite like alliteration. Can you tell?
On the homeward stretch.
A huge log and it wasn't left by any of us.
Actually, it was an old covered reservoir. We didn't see any dogs, though.
Finally, here is the lunch photo from our very first walk ten years ago.
We were very young then and had a lot less fancy walking gear, but we still managed to keep going until now and hopefully will for a while yet.

Well done to the ever youthful Sandra and Dave for arranging the walk and deciding on Brodie for a a very nice tea and cake stop. Pam even managed to get a quick look at MOB dresses.
