STUART GOES WALKING WITH WRINKLIES
My Granny and Granddad dragged me out to go walking with their very old friends out the back of Beauly. I had done this once before near Nairn and it was quite good fun, so I decided to go along with it. There was always the opportunity to marvel at the weird things that old buffers do when they are out in the countryside. So this is what happened as told to my biographer, Bob the Legend.
The first photo shows me looking pretty cool with my Granny and Granddad. I think I cut a dash, wouldn't you agree? I feel that the hat adds an element of ineffable style.
Unlike these old guys trying to get across this style.
I'm not sure what Dave was measuring here, but he said it was a good deal longer than Sandra had said it was.
Apparently these old buggers get lost quite often and here they are again looking confused and lost. If only they had listened to me they would know that they just need to go straight on. When will they ever learn that us young dudes are smarter than they think?
And then this one called Pam couldn't decide what clothes she wanted to wear! And then she complained because she couldn't read what was written on her T-shirt - that was because it was upside down from her angle - obvious really!
Yes its a fence!
These old dears said there was a deer on the other side of the fence, but its hard to trust their eyesight at that age.
However, everyone could see this great view.
Another view, with nice clouds. I did try and describe cloud computing to the oldies, but I might as well have talked to trees - some of them already talk to the trees, I think.
Eventually, they realised that I was the best person to save them, so they let me into the lead to take them back to the home.
First, though, I had to round up those that had wandered about into the heather.
Here are some of them talking to the trees - I told you they were a bit odd.
As you know, oldies can't go very far without stopping for a nice cup of tea and a scone, and here they are at it again.
They all joined in and some of them did say that it was a mistake to be sitting so close to moving water at their age. I'm not too sure why that should be, but a lot of them went to find the trees again after lunch.
And this was the result.
I had to give them a bit of a talking to and a whipping to get them going again.
As you can see they listened attentively to all that I had to say and after half an hour we started to head towards the cars and the home.
It was very picturesque on the way down hill, which most of the oldies said was their natural state.
We did pass an old wreck - for those of you who are in some doubt its on the right of the photograph. They said some guy called Charlie could get it going again. Its a shame he couldn't do the same for all of the oldies as well.
I really had a good time walking with oldies. They are pretty harmless and some of them had sweeties. Maybe I will get to go with them again some time, hopefully with the sensible ones like Bob the Legend.
