NEW YEAR, NEW WALK

The first walk of 2011 was at Daviot Woods, close to home. Sharon and I could not go, so I have had to make up what went on, as opposed to my normal entirely factual blogs. You could say this is a bit of a fairy tale.
Neil and Ann had arranged the walk, but had not taken into account the age of the participants, as you can see from the sign below.

However, the dinosaurs were not deterred by their lack of qualification for the walk and soon got ready to go. A bit like Hansel and Gretel, really - not properly prepared for what was to come.

Robin decided to put on Susan's waterproof trousers, or else he has backed into a sharp branch! That is not out of a fairy tale, but apparently it is a bit of a fantasy for Robin.

Meanwhile Hugh decided to impersonate a leprechaun, to be sure, to be sure.

Eventually, they all got their clothes on and with a hearty Hi Ho! they were off.

Soon Neil and Susan were setting a cracking pace as Hugh gaily waved them through. Little did they know what they were getting themselves into.

Then they disappeared into the tangled wild wood...........................

............where huge monsters awaited them.

But they turned out to be quite friendly and had even set out a welcome sign.

Despite the friendly giant the little group soon lost their way again, and couldn't agree where to go to get to safety or the pub.

But, they found some breadcrumbs on the ground and were so happy they stood about and laughed and laughed.

And then they walked off deeper into the woods and we haven't seen them since!

THE END
but I am sure the intrepid band will be together for further adventures in the future.
