ANOTHER WAY AT DAVA

The August walk saw the Dinosaurs make another assault on part of the Dava Way - this time starting off in Grantown on Spey. There were only a select few - but they would suggest that it is quality that counts and not quantity - perhaps - says I, as I was not there.
Here is Jimmy explaining carefully where they were going to go.
It obviously went well and this is what they all felt like after the half hour exposition.

Not that I am really suggesting Jimmy kept them all in the dark.
In fact, as you can see they were really all in the lovely summer sunshine and raring to go.

And here are some of the girls showing that age is no barrier to the urge for a woman to show a leg or two! Maureen's socks win the prize for brightness.

Soon they were heading into the sylvan glades.

And the glades became ever more sylvan. Indeed, so much so that Susan decided to adopt the hands on the hips stance that is always a prelude to some sort of question - " Are you sure this is the right way? or, as every man will know, the worst of all - does my bum look big in this?"
Jimmy decides to consult one of the locals to confirm his map-reading skills.

It must have been the right way because they soon reach the top. They didn't actually start from sea level, so this is not quite the feat it might seem. Dave could not forget the teacher's blackboard and cane stance.

Here they all are except for Robin who took the photos - I have to acknowledge that or you might think he wasn't there.
This looks a bit tricky - it is amazing the lengths that a true artist will go to to get the best shot. However, as Jimmy didn't send the photo to me, we can only guess whether that is true in this particular instance. Either that or he had just said to someone in the party - "Just go back a little bit further....just a bit more...that's fine...ooops!"
Two gnarled old forest dwellers.

I think you can tell I made up the bit about Jimmy taking the photo - they are all there on the basis that Robin took this photo - we haven't seen him so far, so we can't be sure.

For some reason Maureen has hidden her socks, but that doesn't seem to have stopped her and Susan doing what can only be described as a sashay out of the woods.
This is a difficult one to put a caption to, but I'll try not to offend anyone.
I could just say that Robin and Jimmy don't look as if they are going to have a romantic evening. So that is all I will say in case I get into trouble.

Just for a change a photograph under a bridge instead of on the parapet.

And here they are on the parapet, but not on the bridge.

And at last we can see that Robin was there - or at least he was at the end queuing up for the ice creams with some of our other senior citizens.

It looks like it was a very good walk in some nice weather. Thanks to Robin for the photos and apologies from me for taking so long to get this one up and running.
