THE WHITENESS WANDER
The July walk was as far away from the West coast and midges that we could get. We walked from the Nairn Golf Club to Whiteness Head and back. We were really lucky with the weather and it turned out to be quite a pleasant walk.
This is us just about ready to set off - a more motley crew of people you are unlikely to see in the Nairn Golf Club Car Park.
And here we are walking up beside the first fairway trying to be quiet, but it was harder for some of us than others!
Indeed, some of us had to resort to sign language while those who could not keep quiet had to have their mouths sewn shut!
On we went around the bay, which was very pretty.
We stopped for an early lunch at a little fishing bothy which had been done up and seemed rather nice. It turned out that it belonged to Lord Cawdor, who used it with his family from time to time. Dave had been there before and had met them. We were all anxious to know how he had met Lord Cawdor.
"Just like that", he said.

After looking at the seals through the binoculars we decided to head back for the car park so that we could get a cup of tea and get back home to watch the golf on the telly - Neil was particularly keen to see the golf.
Sandra and Pam were keen to get home too - indeed Hugh had decided that watching the golf at home was by far the best thing to do - Pam just wanted to get home to see that he was still awake!
Ann and Janet, on the other hand just wanted to be sure that they were walking in time.
Something a little artistic to finish off with, before we went to the teashop, which we got to, despite Sandra telling Dave to go to one place when she meant another, but we ended up at the one she meant, but didn't say!
