THE CROMARTY CAKEWALK

As with May a number of us were away for the June walk, which went from Cromarty to McFarquhar's Bed on the coast, What a fine day they got for it too. Here are the intrepid few ready to go from the little port of Cromarty. As you can see it is full of really old stuff.

Soon they were out of the village and up onto the cliffs above the coast, where the views are superb - if you ignore the foreground.

For some reason they seem to have left Jim behind - I can't imagine why that would be. Meanwhile Dave was living the fantasy of the young girls running through the long grass - I did say it was a fantasy.

Off down the slopes to the coast...

....where they found the cave and the bed - almost like the Algarve.
Here is Dave and a big mouth.

And here is a yacht - again just like the Algarve....

....even down to the neds swinging around and doing daft things to impress the tourists.

And this is them all on the beach. I don't know if they had an argument, but they do seem to be sitting quite far away from each other.

I am told the day ended with cake, hence the name of the walk. However, I have no photographic evidence of this, so I will just have to take their words for that - I expect they just ended up in the pub!
Susan is pretending to sit in a cafe having tea and cake - but where is the cake? A stage managed shot taken before they found out it wasn't licensed, I think.

Looks like fun though, maybe we will have to do that walk again with a bigger crowd.

THE DOLLY DINOS

Whilst most of the boys were off playing golf in May, the girls decided to carry on without us - not uncommon, I think. Anyway they went to the Green Loch near Aviemore and seem to have managed to find their way there and back without any help.
Well, actually some of them did seem to need a hand to get dressed.

Eventually they made it and off they went into the wild blue yonder.

This was the fairy tree that they had danced around once before. Not much sign of wild abandon here, though.

Soon they made it to the loch - and you can see why it got that name. 5 go mad in the Cairngorms!

They soon got away from the water's edge when they discovered the leeches, though!

But not before they sat on a log. I was going to write Pretty Maids all in a Row, but that would have been against the Trades Description Act.

Under the Boardwalk and up they went.

Then they showed off their best side looking at the view.

And of course, they ended up at the pub - well actually at a tea room - easy seen that we were not there!

Please don't ask me to say anything about this photo - I could go on and on, but they might never speak to me again....................hmm, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

As I say, they had a good time and so did those of us who went golfing - I am not prepared to say who came last at the golf on the grounds it might incriminate me.
