A STROLL BY THE SEA
The August ambulatory actually consisted of two separate walks along the coast near the Seaboard Villages in Easter Ross. We cheated a little bit and joined the two walks by car. It was however, a great day, made even better by sighting dolphins as well as hearing of Pam's travails as a rock chick in Drumnadrochit. The first photo is taken by Robin and is very nice - the boy shows some promise for a boffin!

Here we are starting off on our trek along the coast, leaving from the pretty little hamlet of Rockfield to the sound of banjo music, or was that at the other end?
Happily this was the only climb on the walk, but Hugh seems to be happy to be striding out. This would not last.
This is the obligatory luncheon photograph - very pleasant and it wasn't even one o'clock - Dave must be getting soft.
The after lunch photo and Hugh's face says it all - just what was in the sandwiches?
These rocks are known locally as the Three Sisters - I had been hoping for a little more when I read that, however.................
Here are most of us standing in front of a standing stone - almost brand new it was too, which is more than can be said for most of us.
The ones that got away.
After cheating and taking the car along the coast a little bit we started on the second walk of the day, which was quite a short one to the Well of Health - a bit ironic really given our collective age was probably getting close to 500!
A little way into the walk and there was something stirrring in the waves - what could it be?
Well this photo will not tell you, however there were dolphins - at least they were there when I thought I took the photo! Believe me they were the highlight of the day.
Whilst it was a little warm...................there was no excuse to wait for a bus when this was supposed to be a walk! Perhaps Pam was still waiting for that lift from the Runrig concert the night before - at least the walk was less muddy than the concert.
Finally we made it to the Well of Health after a fairly strange walk and scramble through the bracken. We found this really old guy there who told us he was only 22, so only a few hardy souls took a drink. Indeed, so put off were we that for once we did not end up at the pub and instead went home for a rest!
