THE MAY MOSEY

Off down to the sea we went for the May Mosey. A really nice walk from Hopeman to Lossiemouth on a beautiful day. Not only that, we did not end up in the pub! So from the car park towards the beach............and these fantastic beach huts.

Further along and time for a little rest and a look at the vast sea, giving us time to contemplate the inconsequence of mankind against the elemental forces of the natural world, otherwise known as taking a breather.

Amazingly for a group of dinosaurs, the walk included the chance to see real dinosaur footprints - and here they are. They didn't remind me of anyone's at the time, but now, well, it might just be that they are a bit like the dainty steps of Jacque tiptoeing across the sand! It must be all those evenings at the league!

And here we all are posing among some more dinosaur footprints.

Not only altogether, but also by gender.................girls with the lady dinosaur footprints

And the boys with Tyranossaurus Rex.................... oh no! that's actually Sandra and Susan.
I make no comment on Jim and his pose.

So hi-ho off we go to lunch, through the gorse to a specially selected spot.

Past Fulmar central - fantastic aerial acrobatics.

Then, just when Dave said we could stop for lunch we made it into the shadow of the local public toilets for our sandwiches.

No-one knows quite what Dave was doing, but clearly Sandra didn't want to look and Pam seems to have been embarrased, such a shy girl really!

In reality it wasn't the public toilets, but an abandoned coastguard station.

After lunch we carried on along the coast, where for once we could truly say that there was stacks to see.

Almost at the end now, and on to the beach, but only after a failed attempt by Sharon to take a really difficult route that left her alone and abandoned.

After combing the beach, we finally arrived at Lossiemouth. It was then left to the drivers to go back to Hopeman and to leave Bob alone with 4 women - he had no hope man! Having said that it did look a little like an outing from the home.

Having said that, it got even more like an outing from the home after we got lost on the way to the tearooms. When they did eventually lead us to our seats it was clear that despite our advancing years we had reduced the average age by a considerable margin! The elderly gentleman who took the photo clearly didn't like Dave - I leave it to you to decide whether that showed that his critical faculties were more intact than his photography skills.

Reserved - we were anything but!

Although the clientele here were fairly decrepit and elderly at least one of them could feed himself! It is worth noting that it was ice cream which reminded him of his lost youth.......and you don't need to chew it!

Another great walk and lots of fun - well done to Susan and Robin. What will we get up to next? I can hardly wait!
