THE FEBRUARY FROLIC
The February Frolic involved a really good walk from Inverfarigaig to Foyers and then back along Loch Ness-side to Inverfarigaig. There was a wide range of scenery and lots to stop and look at. We had really nice weather as well, which always helps.
The car park at Inverfarigaig. I am told that the toilets were lovely. Every single person that went, came back and commented on them. This must say something about the kind of people we are. I'm just not sure quite what it says.
The start of the walk and it was all uphill from then on. It looks like a stroll in the woods, but it did have some heartstopping moments - and I am not talking about the views.
Luckily, what goes up must come down - for some that had a particular resonance when they were thinking about their breakfast!

As I said, the start of this walk was a bit steep, but well worth it for the views over Loch Ness. There was a suggestion that this was good training for trekking in Nepal - not for me it wasn't, I'm just glad there was a bench.

All I can say about this photo is "Stunning, Rugged and Brooding". The scenery is pretty outstanding too.

Here we are having a wholesome lunch all sitting on a single log - the log for the blog! Very pleasant it was too - a really nice spot. If only the toilets had been open for some of our more elderly dinosaurs.
Whilst lunch was, by and large a wholesome affair, there is always someone to lower the tone - the last time I saw something like this a witch had brought it back from Amsterdam.
For some strange reason there is no photo of us in the pub - however, this is a photo of us all in the pub car park. Stunning view, but a shame about the monsters in the foreground.
The same view, but taken without the distractions and, of course, a master photographer's eye - well I took the picture, so I have to say that.
